At Woodland Star, we believe in the transformative power of sports to inspire and empower. We were honoured to welcome Mary Moraa, Kenya’s celebrated 800m runner, Olympic Bronze Medallist, and current World and Commonwealth Champion, to our school. Her record-breaking achievements, including Kenya’s national record in the 400m, stand as a testament to her dedication and talent.

A Role Model for Our Community

Mary’s visit was about much more than her accolades. Her warm and engaging presence resonated with our students as she shared her personal journey, inspired by her mother’s example as a runner. During a lively Q&A session, Mary encouraged students to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.

At Woodland Star, we strive to nurture a love for physical activity through diverse sports programmes, including football, basketball, hockey, and rugby. Our after-school sports clubs further support students eager to enhance their skills. Mary’s story exemplifies how hard work and perseverance can lead to remarkable achievements, making her an ideal role model for our community.

Thank You, Mary Moraa

We are deeply grateful to Mary for sharing her time and story with us. Her visit has left a lasting impression, inspiring our students to dream big and approach challenges with unwavering determination. We eagerly await her future victories as she continues to make history.
