Woodland Star School recently became a creative hub for an inspiring Artists-in-Residence week, welcoming two extraordinary performance groups: Extraordinary Bodies from the United Kingdom and Pamoja Dance Group from Kenya. Together, these talented artists collaborated in our state-of-the-art performing arts studio to develop a breathtaking new production titled Earth, Wheels, Air.

This unique show seamlessly blends aerial circus, theatre, dance, and music, creating a sensory experience that transcends borders and barriers. Through this performance, both groups expressed themes of unity, inclusion, and shared connection with nature, bringing powerful storytelling to the stage.

Extraordinary Bodies, known for their pioneering work in inclusive arts, brought their distinct approach to collaboration and accessibility, ensuring that the art created was truly inclusive. Alongside Pamoja Dance Group, a renowned Kenyan troupe celebrated for their rhythmic storytelling and dynamic performances, the residency fostered a rich exchange of cultures and ideas.

The week was filled with workshops, rehearsals, and spontaneous moments of inspiration, allowing both groups to push creative boundaries while celebrating diversity in the arts. For our community, the Artists-in-Residence week was an unforgettable journey, embodying the values of creativity, inclusion, and respect for diverse abilities and perspectives.
