Primary Years Homeroom Teacher

1:1 Learning support Teacher

The 1:1 Learning Support Teacher will provide personalised academic and social-emotional support to a learner with identified learning needs. The teacher will design and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with curriculum goals, foster independence and self-regulation, and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support holistic learner growth.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education (required).

  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in a 1:1 or inclusive learning setting.
  • Knowledge of reading instruction or Orton Gillingham training (preferred).

Middle Years Homeroom Teacher

Woodland Star International School seeks a dedicated Middle Years Homeroom Teacher to lead a Grade 8 homeroom while delivering inquiry-based instruction in Grade 8 Literacy, Mathematics, and Civics/Social Studies, as well as Grade 6 History. The role emphasizes fostering a supportive community where students are encouraged to be self-directed and globally mindful through an integrated curriculum that blends academic rigor with creative problem-solving. Educators in this role will guide students through the critical transition of the middle years, ensuring they build strong foundational skills in literacy and math while exploring historical and civic inquiry. 

Ideal Candidates:
Reflective, adaptable educators who possess a deep understanding of adolescent development and can create a classroom environment that balances freedom of thought with structured learning outcomes, as well as possess an understanding of mastery-based teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)

  • Valid TSC Number and minimum two (2) years’ teaching experience (Kenyan applicants) or minimum five (5) years’ teaching experience (international applicants)

Secondary Years Physics & Math Educator

We are looking for a dynamic Science Educator to teach Physics and Grade 9 Mathematics at the secondary level. This role emphasizes inquiry, experimentation, and connection to the natural world, including leading field studies within Kenya.

Ideal Candidates:
Innovative, globally minded teachers who can simplify complex concepts, inspire curiosity, and guide learners toward scientific understanding and environmental stewardship. Priority will be given to individuals who have experience with Computer Sciences, Technology, and/or Robotics.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification to teach Secondary Science (Physics and Math)

  • Minimum 5 years’ high school teaching experience (required for work permit eligibility in Kenya)

  • AP experience preferred

  • Police clearance and valid documentation required for visa and work permit
