Karibu to the Tigoni Challenge Color Run

Karibu to the Tigoni Family Trail Run, jointly organised by Woodland Star International School and Brackenhurst Conference Centre, in the beautiful tea fields and trails of Tigoni. This is a family oriented event and so all ages and stages of life are welcome to join in the fun, singles, couples, families, and seniors, in any combination! We are so excited to host this event and look forward to seeing you there!

We are working on a final date, but it’s likely to be 23rd January 2027. More details to follow later this year.

  • Color Run – This is a super fun event for kids, families, and individuals of all ages. The color run course is a 2.5km loop, those who wish to run a 5km trail can complete two loops. The course goes through forested areas providing shade and beautiful scenery, as well as stations where volunteers will throw powered color dye on participants. The experience and the photos will be ones to remember! There is an inspiring short video at the end of the page that shows you what a color run is.
  • 10km – This is a fun and scenic route that weaves through the lush tea fields surrounding Brackenhurst and the Woodland Star School campus. True to Tigoni’s landscape, the course features plenty of hills, but these climbs are rewarded with expansive views across Tigoni and the surrounding countryside. The route is almost entirely on trails and quiet dirt roads, with only a brief section on pavement. For anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and character of Tigoni, this route is a wonderful choice.
  • Half Marathon – For those looking for a greater challenge, this route is an excellent choice. It takes runners deep into the wider Tigoni area, offering the chance to explore expansive tea estates and forested trails. Expect beautiful views of rolling tea fields and woodland for the entire run. The first half of the course includes a steady amount of elevation gain, adding to the challenge, before opening into more flowing terrain. The route is almost entirely on trails and quiet dirt roads, with only a short section on pavement (the same as the 10 km route). This is a route beloved by local trail runners, and we’re confident you’ll finish with the same appreciation once you’ve experienced it.
  • Full Marathon next year (2027) – For anyone looking for a big trail experience, we have you covered. We originally planned to offer a full marathon, with a route that builds on the half-marathon course and extends into even more beautiful tea-field trails north of Tigoni, including a really fun forested section. This full marathon is planned for 2027 — in the meantime, we invite you to enjoy the half marathon and experience the best of what these trails have to offer.
